The ink cartridges we sell on our website are cartridges that are compatible with the Canon systems we sell. The cartridges have microchips attached to them which allow the printer to read the ink level in each cartridge. When the printer cannot read the ink level or cannot detect the cartridge at all, this may be due to a dysfunctional microchip. If this happens, you can still use the cartridge by replacing the microchip from another cartridge of the same color. If you are having trouble with getting ink to flow from the cartridge, squeeze the cartridge, sponge side down, over a trash can or sink until you see ink dripping out or tap the cartridge hard on the edge of the trash can or sink until you see ink drops.
